Adult Education

10:00 am

You may have graduated from high school, and you may have graduated from college, but you never graduate from Sunday school! Learning about God, and growing to become the person that God wants you to be, is a lifelong experience. We strongly encourage you not to be satisfied with what you already know or with where you currently are in your faith, but to keep learning and growing throughout your life. Here at Montrose Zion, we offer a wide variety of classes for people of all ages and interests. Please take a minute to read about some of these and find one which appeals to you!

Sweet Hour of Prayer (Scout Room)

Matthew 18:20 ... “For where 2 or 3 have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst.” Come and gather in His name! We meet for the specific focus of praying for our church. We follow the ACTS format for prayer ... Adoration (praise), followed by silent Confession, followed by prayers of Thanksgiving, and concluding with prayers of Supplication for our church staff and families. We pray through the church bulletin to cover each week’s activities and concerns. Please join us!

Emmaus Class (Rm. 5)

We will be studying God’s will for our lives using “The Mystery of God’s Will” by Charles Swindoll and “The Will of God” by Leslie Weatherhead. As Dr. Swindoll says, “God’s will for us in this life is not some black-and-white objective designed to take us to an appointed destination here on earth as much as it is about the journey itself... and what matters to Him in our lives.” Come join us on our journey of discovering God’s will for us as His beloved children.

Java & Jesus (Rms. 6 & 8)

Bring your coffee downstairs to Rms. 6 & 8, for this time of fellowship, and discussion of the sermon/service. Consider the sermon a starting point, not something that is finished and done in 20 minutes on Sunday morning. Often it puts things in perspective, and even challenges us as we do life together. Gather with us as we share thoughts such as "what new insights have you learned about yourself or the way God is calling you to live?"
